Stephen Biddle's New Essay on the Washington Post's Monkey Cage Blog: "Here’s why we can only contain the Islamic State, not bomb it back to the Stone Age"

December 03, 2015

Prof. Stephen Biddle recently posted an essay on the Washington Post's Monkey Cage blog that assesses Western military options against the Islamic State. He argues that eliminating its ability to carry out Paris-style terrorism is a much more expensive proposition than many now suppose. Given that, we're going to be stuck with some version of containment for a long time to come.

Stephen Biddle will be discussing strategy against the Islamic State on Monday, December 7. For more information about the event please visit the official website.
